Where does the Motherland begin?
From the smiles and tears of mothers

Kokshaysk, the pearl of the Mari El Republic, is a village that attracts the population of our and neighboring republics for recreation not only in summer, but also in winter, when you can sit with a fishing rod on the bays of the Volga River, go skiing and just take a break from the bustle of the city.

A lot of water has flowed under the Volga River since Vasily Vlasyev and Afanasy Esipov began building the city fortress in 1574. Today it is a modern village with developed infrastructure, in which there are no industrial enterprises, and development is aimed at tourism and recreation. Just one figure, that in the summer the population of Kokshaysk increases 15 times due to vacationers, speaks volumes.

Population growth occurs both due to residents who have dachas, and due to visitors who prefer to relax at recreation centers.
