Scales: level of neuropsychic stability

Purpose of the test

The technique was developed at LVMA named after. S.M. Kirov and is intended for the initial identification of persons with signs of neuropsychic instability. It allows you to identify individual pre-morbid signs of personality disorders, as well as assess the likelihood of their development and manifestations in human behavior and activity.

You must answer 84 yes or no questions within 30 minutes. Analysis of the answers can clarify individual biographical information, behavioral characteristics and state of mental activity in different situations.

Test instructions

You are offered a test of 84 questions, to each of which you need to answer “yes” or “no”. The proposed questions relate to your well-being, behavior or character. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers here, so don’t try to think about them for a long time - answer based on what best suits your condition or ideas about yourself. If your answer is yes, then fill in the box with the answer “yes” above the number of the corresponding question; if the answer is no, then fill in the rectangle with the answer “no”. If you find it difficult to answer, then fill in both rectangles, which corresponds to the answer “I don’t know.”

You have 30 minutes to complete the task.

Interpretation of test results

Characteristics of NPL levels according to the “Forecast” questionnaire

29 or more- high probability of neuropsychic breakdowns. Additional medical examination by a psychiatrist or neurologist is necessary.

14-28 - neuropsychic breakdowns are likely, especially in extreme conditions. This fact must be taken into account when making a determination of suitability.

13 or less- neuropsychic breakdowns are unlikely. If there are other positive data, it can be recommended for specialties that require increased normalization.

Of the 57 questions, 24 are aimed at identifying the degree of introversion or extroversion of a person. Both of these concepts were introduced by the Swiss psychologist C. G. Jung. There are practically no “pure” extroverts and introverts, but we all occupy a position in this range closer to one pole or another. Another 24 questions reveal emotional instability or, on the contrary, stability and balance. Finally, the test includes 9 questions to assess how sincerely you answered the test.

  1. Extraversionintroversion characterizes a person’s main individual orientation, either inward (introvert) or toward the world and external events (extrovert). Extroverts are sociable, active, impulsive, emotional, and risk-taking people. Introverts, on the contrary, are more reserved, calm, prone to introspection, not very sociable, cautious and pedantic.
  2. Neuroticism emotional stability characterizes indicators of stability or instability nervous system. People with high results on the neuroticism scale react very painfully to failures and emerging problems, tend to get upset over trifles, are subject to sudden mood swings, are anxious and extremely sensitive to everything that happens to them. Emotionally resilient people, on the contrary, they are not inclined to worry about trifles, they easily restrain their emotions and control their own emotional condition, adapt well to changed situations.

That's basically all the introductory information. Now you will need a piece of paper, some writing medium and a little time, which you could just as well spend watching videos. But before you start taking the test, I recommend writing on a piece of paper your guess: what type of personality would you classify yourself as, without even looking at it, so to speak. You should probably know at least something about what traits are inherent in certain personality types. Oh yes, here are the actual types, if you forgot names: choleric, melancholic, sanguine and phlegmatic. There is no need to look at the definitions, they are below, now just write down your guess. It is quite possible that you write down two options - this is not forbidden, and after passing the test you can check the answer with that what you wrote down earlier.

When answering questions, it is better, for convenience, to put \"yes\" next to them in the case of a positive answer and \"no\" in the case of a negative one.

Material processing:

For each indicator, we calculate the sum of points (if the answer matches that indicated in the \"key\" (below), it is assigned one point. If it does not match, nothing is assigned).

First, we check how you answered the questions that were an indicator of your sincerity:

Sincerity:

  • Yes - 6, 24, 36.
  • No - 12, 18, 30, 42, 48, 54.

If in all honesty you typed:

Extraversion:

  • Yes - 1, 3, 8, 10, 13, 17, 22, 25, 27, 39, 44, 46, 49, 53, 56.
  • No - 5, 15, 20, 29, 32, 34, 37, 41, 51.

Stability:

  • Yes - 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, 31, 33, 35, 38, 40, 43, 45, 47, 50, 52, 55, 57.

Interpretation of the result:

Draw two axes intersecting in the center (as in the figure). 24 divisions each.

  • Vertical axis - \"scale of emotional stability\"
  • Horizontal axis - \"extraversion scale\"

Each scale from 1 to 24 intersects at point 12. Mark your indicators on the axes. Find the intersection point. A point can lie on the axis if one of the scales is equal to 12. The result you received is your predominant type of temperament. Using the extraversion scale, you can see the type of personality orientation: extrovert or introvert.

Let me remind you:

  • Extroverts - these are individuals who, due to the organization of their nervous processes, are turned outward, requiring constant stimulation from the external environment. They are characterized by a craving for new experiences; such people need company; They are characterized by relaxed behavior, they are sociable, carefree, talkative and at the same time impulsive, sometimes even aggressive. Their feelings and emotions are not always controllable.
  • Introverts facing inward. They do not need significant external stimulation, and this property forms the specific behavior of such a person. He is unsociable, he has few friends, but he is devoted to them for a long time. An introvert avoids noisy companies, is slow, serious, plans his actions and actions, and controls his emotions quite well.

There are practically no “pure” extroverts and introverts ,but we all occupy a position in this range closer to one pole or another.Plus remember that there is no bad type of temperament!!!

Now you can look at the second picture, which shows what qualities characterize this or that personality type,

  • If the intersection point is in the upper right corner, you are an unstable choleric extrovert.
  • If on the bottom right - a stable (emotionally stable) sanguine extrovert.
  • At the top left is an unstable melancholic introvert.
  • Bottom left is a stable phlegmatic introvert.

And the characteristic qualities for your type are given.

Test results:

Melancholic (weakness and excitation and inhibition) - easily upset, anxious, inclined to talk about the matter and not to the point, pessimistic, rather reserved, uncommunicative, quiet in behavior, reacts painfully to the statements of others regarding him, easily falls into a state of melancholy, fear, sadness. He is quite suspicious, the new environment frightens him and he gets lost, he views life in black terms.

Choleric (predominance of the process of excitation over inhibition) - strong, unbalanced, agile, unrestrained, sensitive, restless, quite aggressive, excitable, fickle, optimistic, trying to take the initiative, active, fighting type, perky, easily and quickly irritated, cyclical behavior and experiences. Makes grandiose plans. The will is impetuous, often irritated, not restrained in words and actions, quick-tempered and straightforward.

Phlegmatic (prevalence of inhibition) - passive, cautious, reasonable, benevolent, peaceful, well-managed, trustworthy, reliable and calm. High efficiency, patience, when communicating he is always equal with other people, is tolerant of their weaknesses, does not like idle / empty chatter, it is difficult to make him laugh and anger, outwardly he seems calm even in very serious troubles and problems, he practically does not express feelings outwardly.

Sanguine (mobility of processes and excitation and inhibition) - sociable, sociable, sociable, talkative, relaxed in behavior, cheerful, not prone to anxiety, strive to take a dominant position. Highly adaptable to environmental conditions, speaks quickly, moves quickly, can switch attention well from one object to another, manages his mood well, is optimistic, his inner state of mind is written on his face.

Task 4. Summarize the results of all the tests in a table and draw a conclusion about the degree of need to master self-regulation techniques for each student.

Task 5. Determine which method of self-regulation the following methods belong to.

Method 1.

While sitting or standing, try to relax your body muscles as much as possible and focus on your breathing.

1. On the count of 1-2-3-4, do it slowly deep breath(in this case, the stomach protrudes forward and the chest is motionless).

2. Hold your breath for the next four counts.

3. Then exhale smoothly to the count of 1-2-3-4-5-6.

4. Hold your breath again before the next inhalation for a count of 1-2-3-4.

After just 3-5 minutes of such breathing, you will notice that your state has become noticeably calmer and more balanced.

Method 2.

Sit comfortably, if possible, close your eyes.

1. Breathe deeply and slowly.

2. Walk with your inner gaze throughout your body, starting from the top of your head to the tips of your toes (or in reverse order) and find the places of greatest tension (often these are the mouth, lips, jaws, neck, back of the head, shoulders, stomach).

3. Try to tighten the clamps even more (until the muscles tremble), do this while inhaling.

4. Feel this tension.

5. Relieve tension sharply - do this while exhaling.

6. Do this several times.

In a well-relaxed muscle you will feel the appearance of warmth and pleasant heaviness.

If you cannot remove the clamp, especially on the face, try smoothing it out with light self-massage using circular movements of your fingers (you can make grimaces of surprise, joy, etc.).

Method 3.

In case of even minor successes, it is advisable to praise yourself, mentally saying: “Well done!”, “Clever girl!”, “Great job!”

Method 4.

Tell yourself: “Talk calmly!”, “Be silent, be silent!”, “Don’t give in to provocation!” - this helps to restrain emotions, behave with dignity, comply with ethical requirements and rules of communication.

Method 5.

1. Remember a situation when you overcame similar difficulties.

2. Use affirmations. To enhance the effect, you can use the words “just today”, for example:

· “Today I will succeed”;

· “Today I will be the most calm and self-possessed”;

· “Today I will be resourceful and confident”;

· “It gives me pleasure to conduct a conversation in a calm and confident voice, to show an example of restraint and self-control.”

3. Mentally repeat the text several times.

Attunement formulas can be pronounced out loud in front of the mirror or to yourself on the way.

Task 5. Give examples of self-regulation methods that can be used at home

Purpose: to explore emotional stability and balance using the test.

One of the most known tests was developed by the English psychologist G. Eysenck. It took several decades to create.

Extroverts are characterized by impulsiveness, initiative, behavioral flexibility, and sociability, which are manifested in functional endurance, the ability to withstand long-term or short-term excitement without passing into the opposite state of inhibition.

Introverts are characterized by a focus on the phenomena of their own inner world, which is expressed in unsociability, isolation, and a tendency to introspection. The functional performance of introverts during inhibition is manifested in the ability to form various inhibitory conditioned reactions. Extroverts work better in the evening, while introverts work better in the morning. It should be noted that pronounced types are rare. For each individual person characterized by greater or lesser expression of one or another property.

Practical part. You are asked 57 questions about the characteristics of your behavior and your feelings. Answer questions with a plus “yes” and a minus “no.” Work quickly, without spending a lot of time thinking about them, since the most interesting is your first reaction, and not the result of too much thinking. Remember that you must answer every question. There can be no good or bad answers here. This is not a test of your abilities, but only to clarify the characteristics of your behavior.

Interpreting the results of the questionnaire, Eysenck identified two parameters of human personality: extraversion-introversion and emotional stability (stability) - emotional instability, instability (neuroticism).

All 57 questions are divided into three groups. 24 questions reveal whether you are an extrovert or an introvert. The following 24 questions are related to your emotional stability or instability. And the remaining 9 questions determine how sincere you are in your answers.

For each answer that matches the key, you give yourself 1 point. The scores for each of the three scales are summed.

Key to the Introversion-Extraversion Scale questionnaire: 1+, 3+, 5-, 8+, 10+, 13+, 15-, 17+, 20-, 22+, 25+, 27+, 29-, 32-, 34+, 37-, 39+, 41-, 44+, 46+, 49+, 51-, 53+, 56+.

Emotional stability-instability scale 2+, 4+, 7+, 9+, 11+, 14+, 16+, 19+, 21+, 23+, 26+, 28+, 31+, 33+, 35+, 38+, 40+, 43+, 45+, 47+, 50+, 52+, 55+, 57+.

Scale of secrecy-frankness (sincerity) 6+, 12-, 18-, 24+, 30-, 36+, 42-, 48-, 54-.

If you score 12 or more points on the first scale, then you are an extrovert (12-18 points - moderate extroversion, 19-24 -
significant), if you have less than 12 points, then you are an introvert (1-7 points - significant, 8-11 - moderate introversion).

If you have 12 or less points on the second scale, then you are emotionally stable (up to 10 points - high stability, 11-12 points - average); if more than 12 points, then you are emotionally unstable (15-18 points - high, 19-24 points - very high instability).
If you scored more than 4 points, then your answers were not always sincere and indicate a person’s tendency to focus on good impression About Me.

Using the questionnaire, you can also determine your temperament type. If you plot the coordinates on a piece of paper and plot the scores (from 0 to 24) along the axes stability (stability) - neuroticism and introversion - extraversion, then the combination of characteristics will indicate the type of temperament. In the upper right part (unstable extroverts) there will be choleric people; in the lower right part - sanguine people; in the lower left - phlegmatic and in the upper left - melancholic.

Eysenck test (character, emotional stability, personality type)

Questionnaire published here as a sample psychological test , compiled by English psychologists G. Eysenck and S. Eysenck in 1964. This is still the most common test for assessing basic personality traits. Of the 57 questions, 24 are aimed at identifying the degree of introversion or extroversion of a person. Both of these concepts were introduced by the Swiss psychologist C. G. Jung. The terms are derived from the Latin roots “extra” - “outside”, “intra” - “inside” and “verto” - “turn”. Extroverts are individuals who, due to the organization of their nervous processes, are turned outward, requiring constant stimulation from the external environment. They are characterized by a craving for new experiences; such people need company; They are characterized by relaxed behavior, they are sociable, carefree, talkative and at the same time impulsive, sometimes even aggressive. Their feelings and emotions are not always controllable.

Introverts are inward-looking. They do not need significant external stimulation, and this property forms the specific behavior of such a person. He is unsociable, he has few friends, but he is devoted to them for a long time. An introvert avoids noisy companies, is slow, serious, plans his actions and actions, and controls his emotions quite well.

There are practically no “pure” extroverts and introverts, but we all occupy a position in this range closer to one pole or another.

Another 24 questions are revealed emotional instability or, on the contrary, stability, balance. Finally, the test includes 9 questions to assess how sincerely you answered the test.
