Tuva State University (TuvSU) (until 2011 Tyva State University) is the largest higher education institution in the Republic of Tyva.

TuvSU is located in the capital of the republic - the city of Kyzyl. Educated from Kyzyl State Pedagogical Institute in the 1990s, uniting branches of KrasSTU and KrasGAU, it has been rapidly increasing its scientific and technical potential in recent years. Several academic buildings and dormitories are the result of the continuous work of the university management. The main task of the university is to provide the republic with qualified personnel. The university cooperates with many universities in Siberia and provides training to foreign students.

Story

In the early 1950s, due to the shortage of teaching staff in the post-war years, the government of Tuva turned to the government of the USSR with a request to open an institute in Tuva. On December 6, 1951, the USSR Ministry of Education issued an order “On the opening of the Kyzyl Institute,” and on January 16, 1952, “On the opening of branches of the Kyzyl Teachers’ Institute.”

The Kyzyl Teachers' Institute began functioning on June 30, 1952. At that time there were only two departments: the department of language and literature, and the physics and mathematics department. The institute could only afford to admit 100 applicants per year.

On September 1, 1956, the Teachers' Institute was reorganized into a pedagogical institute with two faculties: philology and physics and mathematics.

In 1959, the third faculty was opened - pedagogy and methods of primary education. The first graduating class of 1961 gave Tyva 85 teachers. In 1964, the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry was opened.

Over the entire period of existence of the pedagogical institute, it graduated about 10 thousand specialists, and in 1995, by decree of the President of Russia, the institute was transformed into a state university, which it still is.

For some specialties, the competition ranges from 10 to 15 people per place.

Historical reference

In the last century, in the early 50s, the Tuvan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic felt a shortage of qualified personnel. The government of the republic turned to the Council of Ministers of the USSR with this problem. After some time it was resolved. In 1952, a teacher's institute began to function in the republic.

This educational institution existed until 1956. Then the university was reorganized - the work of the teachers' institute was continued by the pedagogical institute. For several decades there were no significant events in the history of the university. An important change occurred in the 90s - Krasnoyarsk branches of higher educational institutions were added to the educational organization. In 1995, the pedagogical institute was transformed. It began to be called Tyvin State University (later the name was changed - “Tyvinsky” was replaced by “Tuvinsky”).

The university at present and its plans for development

Today the university rightfully occupies a leading position in the higher education system of the republic. It has 6 academic buildings. The material and technical base has recently been improved. The university also expanded its teaching staff and hired new employees. This made it possible to open new specialties that became in demand in the labor market.

Tuva State University does not intend to stop there. He set himself several strategic goals:

  • improve the vocational education system through the introduction of new information and communication technologies and strengthening the integration of scientific research and the educational process;
  • develop a system of multi-level continuous professional education, expand the range of educational services.

For example, for those who want to connect their lives with agriculture, the agricultural faculty of the university has the following areas of training (specialties):

  • “Technology of processing and production of agricultural products.”
  • "Zootechnics".
  • "Agronomy".

Applicants who want to enter TuvGU (Tuva State University) and obtain the most in-demand specialty should pay attention to the Faculty of Economics. It offers 4 areas of training:

The college, which is part of the university, has 7 different specialties. Applicants enter here to obtain one of the following specialties: a kindergarten teacher, a primary school teacher, a teacher for clubs and development circles, a physical education teacher and a specialist for working in physical education and health centers.

Full-time and distance learning: what should an applicant choose?

When entering Tuva State University, applicants are asked to choose one of the forms or correspondence. Which one is better? Each form of training has certain characteristics. Those applicants who do not plan to combine work and study are recommended to choose a full-time department:

  • it offers more budget seats;
  • The duration of full-time study is shorter than part-time;
  • one of the important advantages is an interesting student life (full-time students participate in various competitions, competitions, and events);
  • Tuva State University pays scholarships to full-time students.

The correspondence department is an ideal option for working students. Classes are held in the evening. Students study the educational material independently. They ask any questions they have in class. Another advantage of the correspondence course is lower tuition fees than full-time studies.

Information for students: dormitories

There are many nonresident students at Tuva State University. The educational institution provides them with dormitories, of which there are 5 in total. Places in them are distributed by university employees. Upon receipt of the room, a rental agreement for residential premises is drawn up. This document establishes the rights and obligations of the parties (the applicant and the educational institution).

The rental agreement also states that students moving into dormitories must pay for accommodation, household and utility services. There is one condition - the amount of the fee cannot be more than 3% of the amount of the scholarship paid. The fee is determined annually by the rector. It depends on the hostel. For example, in 2015 the fee was as follows:

  • for a hostel on Internatsionalnaya Street, 20 - 698 rubles;
  • on Suvorov Street, 71 - 633 rubles;
  • on Druzhby Street, 1/1 - 698 rubles;
  • in the Student Quarter - 698 rubles;
  • on Kolkhoznaya Street, 69 - 600 rubles.

The formation of national statehood, the further development of the economy and culture required a constant increase in qualified personnel in all spheres of public life. In the first years, the republic widely used the opportunity provided by the Soviet government to train specialists with higher education in universities in Moscow, Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Abakan, but the key to solving the personnel problem remained strengthening secondary schools and providing them with qualified teachers. Thus, the training of qualified teachers locally has become a vital necessity for the young autonomous region.

Taking all this into account, the government of Tuva turned to the government of the USSR with a request to open a teacher's institute in Tuva. Despite the difficult post-war years, the Council of Ministers of the USSR issued a decree (No. 22644-R dated November 27, 1951) allowing the opening of a teacher's institute in Kyzyl in 1952 and the construction of an educational building to begin in 1953.
Subsequently, orders of the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR dated December 6, 1951 No. 2140 and January 16, 1952 No. 106 “On the opening of the Kyzyl Institute” and “On the opening of branches of the Kyzyl Teachers’ Institute” were issued. By order of June 30, 1952, the Kyzyl Teachers' Institute began to function. The institute opened two departments:

a) department of language and literature

b) physics and mathematics department

With an admission plan for each department of 50 people.

On the basis of the teachers' college, at the request of the party and Soviet bodies of Tuva, on September 1, 1956, a pedagogical institute was opened with two faculties: philology and physics and mathematics.

In 1959, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Primary Education Methods was opened, and since 1963 - the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry.

Since the opening of the institute, its educational and material and technical base has been continuously strengthened, the composition of teachers has been growing quantitatively and improving qualitatively.

The first graduate of the pedagogical institute took place in 1961 (85 teachers). During the period from 1961 to 1995, the institute graduated 9,849 specialists with higher education.

Since 1995, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of September 30, 1995 N 989 “On the creation of a state university in the Republic of Tyva,” the government of the Russian Federation has decided:
